Why guides

Why we explain cost factors instead of printing a price list

A price per square metre on its own tells you very little. Two carpets that look alike can differ in density and underlay; vinyl may need levelling that never appears on the first quote; herringbone parquet wastes more in cutting than a straight lay. These guides explain what actually drives cost, so you can compare quotations like for like.

There are three kinds: cost-factor guides for each material, comparisons to help you choose between types, and practical how-tos on measuring and care. If you are just starting out, our services overview shows all six product lines.

How to read a flooring quotation before you accept it

Two quotes with the same total can buy you very different jobs. Lay them side by side and check for each of these, line by line:

  1. The exact product: range or type and colour, not a vague “premium carpet”.
  2. Measured area versus order quantity — the difference is waste, and it should be shown, not buried.
  3. Preparation: does it include lifting the old floor, levelling and dealing with damp?
  4. Accessories: underlay, skirting, door transitions and stair nosings.
  5. Installation: the right method for the material, plus who moves furniture and clears up.
  6. Exclusions, written out in plain words.

If something is missing, ask before you decide. The cheapest quote that leaves out preparation or accessories often ends up the dearest once they are added. To brief us properly, use the room measuring guide or send sizes and photos through our contact page.

About our flooring guides

Why don’t you publish a fixed price per square metre?

A figure quoted without knowing the area, the subfloor and the exact product misleads more than it helps. We would rather explain what moves the cost up or down, then measure your space and send a written quotation by phone or WhatsApp.

Where should I start if I haven’t chosen a floor type yet?

Start with the vinyl vs parquet vs tiles comparison, which works through the options room by room. Then read the cost guide for the material you settle on, and finish with the measuring guide so your sizes are ready.

Are my own measurements good enough for a quote?

They are fine for a quick first estimate, especially with clear photos. The final quotation is based on our own measurements on site, because corners, doorways and roll direction all change the quantity — and the visit is free inside Riyadh.

How do I compare quotes for two different materials?

Compare what you get rather than just the total: expected life in your use, preparation included, accessories and ease of upkeep. A slightly dearer material can work out cheaper if it lasts longer or needs no extra levelling.

Are these guides useful for commercial projects?

Yes. The same factors apply to offices, schools and hotels, with a bill of quantities and phasing on top. Our project solutions page covers what companies and contractors need to know.
