What the floor needs

Six things that decide a restaurant or cafe floor

Before picking colour and pattern we look at what the floor must endure. Working on something bigger? Read about our project solutions and hotel and compound flooring.

Slip resistance

Areas that meet water or grease need a suitable surface; we ask about the product’s specification and suggest what suits each zone.

Easy cleaning

A surface that does not absorb liquids or hold stains, with few joints where dirt gathers, saves daily cleaning time.

Handling traffic

Walking, trolleys and moving chairs all day call for a hardwearing top layer, and we pick the wear layer to match how heavy the use is.

Sound and comfort

Hard floors raise the noise, and carpet tiles soften it in seating zones where cleaning allows.

Look and identity

A wood or stone pattern or a calm colour serves your identity, and we show samples before you decide.

Speed of fitting

Closing costs money, so we plan the stages and give a duration after the inspection.

By zone

Which floor suits each area of the venue?

We do not put one type everywhere. We split the venue into zones and choose what suits each zone’s use.

How we choose

Vinyl, carpet or a mix?

The answer depends on use, not only on fashion.

Vinyl is the most common choice for dining areas because it pairs a wood or stone look with easy cleaning. We separate its types: click-lock SPC planks, glued LVT planks and sheet vinyl, with the differences explained in our SPC, LVT and sheet vinyl guide.

When we prefer gluing

In the busiest areas where chairs and trolleys move constantly we may recommend glued vinyl because planks stay more stable, provided the floor is level and dry.

Colours and patterns

Very dark colours show dust and spots and very pale ones show shoe marks. A mid-tone with a light pattern is usually more practical for daily cleaning. We show samples under your venue’s own lighting.

Carpet tiles in selected zones

Carpet is not advised in every dining area, but it serves quiet seating, majlis rooms and corridors away from spills, and a single tile can be replaced instead of redoing the zone. See carpet tiles Riyadh.

Walls and corners

Skirting and corner details matter for cleaning, so we pay attention to a neat finish at walls and doorways.

Application ideas

Three ideas for hospitality spaces

Open space with a wood-look vinyl floor and a glass frontage

Open hall

A light wood-look vinyl gives warmth, hides daily dust and marks, and wipes clean easily.

Texture and pattern

A mid-tone wood pattern with a calm texture helps cleaning and keeps the space looking tidy.

Terrace with artificial grass and strip lighting in the evening

Outdoor seating

Artificial grass with good drainage on a terrace adds a green feel without watering.

Fitting

How we plan fitting without stopping your business

  1. Inspect and zone

We visit, measure, split the venue into zones, and ask about opening hours and days off.

  2. Choose samples

We show suitable samples for each zone under your venue’s lighting and confirm quantities.

  3. Phase schedule

We set the order of work: zone by zone or in closing hours, depending on what the site allows.

  4. Prepare and fit

We prepare the floor, fit it and fix skirting and thresholds in the agreed phases.

  5. Clean and hand over

We remove offcuts, wipe the floor and hand over each zone ready for use.

Downtime and operations

How we reduce downtime while fitting

Every closed day costs money, so we discuss the schedule before starting. Where the space can be split we start with one section, hand it over and move to the next. Where work in closing hours is possible we arrange it with you.

We avoid types with a long drying time when time is tight, since click-lock floating planks may allow faster use than glued ones, though we decide according to the floor and how it is used. We give exact timing after the inspection, not before.

Care

How to look after the floor in a restaurant

Daily cleaning

Sweep or vacuum to remove grit then mop with a suitable cleaner; grit is the first cause of scratches in busy places.

Protect chair legs

Felt pads or rubber feet prevent scratches and reduce noise when chairs are dragged.

Spills and stains

Remove liquids and grease at once, since leaving them can affect safety and appearance.

Keep spares

Pieces from the same batch help repair a damaged area without changing the whole floor.

Estimate how much you need

Questions restaurant and cafe owners ask

What is the best floor for a restaurant or cafe?

No single floor suits every restaurant, but vinyl (SPC or LVT) is the most common choice for dining areas because it is easy to clean and comes in many looks. We suggest the best fit after seeing the venue, its zones and how it is used.

Is vinyl suitable for busy venues?

In most cases yes, if we choose a type with a tough wear layer and a suitable fitting method, and we may recommend gluing in very busy places. The floor beneath must be level and dry.

Can carpet be used in a restaurant?

In selected zones such as quiet seating, majlis areas and corridors away from spills, but not in every dining area. Carpet tiles help because a single damaged tile can be replaced.

How long does flooring take in a restaurant?

It depends on the area, the current floor, the number of zones and whether work can be phased. We give a schedule after the inspection rather than a general estimate.

Can work be done at night or in closing hours?

This can be arranged depending on the site and its requirements, and we discuss the working schedule with you before confirming so that downtime is limited.

Can artificial grass be used for outdoor seating?

Yes, on terraces and roofs provided there is suitable drainage and a level surface; we deal with edges and drainage. See our rooftop artificial grass and artificial grass installation pages.

How should vinyl be cleaned every day in a restaurant?

Sweep or vacuum to remove grit, then mop with a mild cleaner and suitable mops, removing spills and grease at once. The final instructions follow the product you choose.

What should I send to get a quote?

The venue location and rough area, a plan if you have one, the type of business and its zones, your opening hours and photos of the current floor. We then confirm the quote after the free inspection.
