AC3
Usually enough for every room in a home, including living rooms, plus quiet offices.
We supply and fit parquet for majlis rooms, bedrooms, living areas and offices, in straight planks or herringbone and chevron patterns. We visit for a free inspection in Riyadh, measure and bring samples, then quote by phone or WhatsApp.

In Riyadh, “parquet” is used loosely for almost any wood-look floor, and most boards sold under that name are actually laminate with an HDF core. Nothing wrong with that — but knowing the difference makes comparing quotes much fairer.
A high-density fibreboard core with a printed wood image and a tough clear top layer. Very scratch-resistant and commonly 8, 10 or 12 mm thick, but it can’t be sanded and dislikes standing water.
A real hardwood top layer bonded to a cross-layered base, giving genuine timber feel with better stability as humidity changes. Some can take a light sanding, depending on the wear layer.
Single pieces of timber that can be sanded and refinished several times, but they react most to dry air and humidity swings, so they need careful fitting and care.
Want the timber look in a kitchen or laundry? Wood-look SPC vinyl planks handle water far better.
Straight planks are the simplest, lowest-waste layout and sit calmly with almost any furniture. As a rule, run boards towards the main light source or along the length of the room so joints fade and the space looks longer.
In narrow hallways, lengthwise boards make the space feel wider; a diagonal lay adds movement to small rooms at the cost of a little extra waste.

Herringbone uses short, square-ended blocks laid at right angles in a broken zigzag. Chevron blocks are cut at an angle so their ends meet in a clean point, forming a continuous arrow. Herringbone feels warmer and more traditional; chevron reads crisper and more formal.
Both add instant prestige to a majlis — the formal reception room of a Saudi home — or an entrance hall. They need a carefully set centre line, a very flat subfloor and more fitting time, and they usually generate more waste than straight planks.

The AC rating measures how well a laminate surface resists abrasion and impact. Treat these as general guidance — the product spec has the final word.
Usually enough for every room in a home, including living rooms, plus quiet offices.
A safe choice for busy family homes, offices and small shops.
For high-traffic commercial floors; rarely needed in bedrooms.
Floor colour changes how a room feels more than most people expect — choose it alongside lighting and furniture.
Reflects light, makes compact rooms feel bigger and hides fine dust better than dark shades.

The honey tone most people ask for; easy with fabric sofas, timber pieces and big windows.

Pairs with white, black and metal finishes, and looks calm in dining rooms and offices.

Rich in large majlis rooms and bedrooms, but shows dust and scratches sooner and needs good lighting.

Riyadh air is dry most of the year and round-the-clock air-conditioning dries it further; humidity then rises on rainy days or when the A/C is off during a long trip. Wood-based boards shrink and swell with each swing.
So we let boxes acclimatise in the room before fitting and leave an expansion gap at walls and columns — typically 8–10 mm for laminate — hidden by skirting. Sealing that gap with silicone or fixing kitchen units on top of a floating floor are classic causes of buckling.

We measure rooms and check flatness, moisture and door heights.
Level where needed, then a damp-proof membrane and acoustic foam.
Boards go down in the agreed direction with a perimeter gap.
Skirting hides the gap; profiles bridge doorways and tile edges.
Treads are cut individually with protective nosings, then we clean up.
Enter room length and width. Use 10% waste for straight planks and 15% for herringbone or chevron; we confirm on site.

Chevron or herringbone gives a majlis presence; anchor the seating with a large rug.

Warm and quiet underfoot; AC3 with good acoustic underlay is usually plenty.

A polished look for receptions and executive rooms in a commercial wear class.
Project solutionsVacuum with a hard-floor head and use a barely damp, well-wrung microfibre mop. No wet mopping, no steam.
Wipe water up straight away, especially at joints and near bathroom and kitchen doors.
Felt pads on furniture, a mat at the door and a rug across busy walkways.
Light scratches take a repair pen; a damaged board can be replaced, so keep a spare box.

Parquet installation step by step: prep, gaps, skirting and finish

In most cases, yes, if the tiles are solid and flat. A floating floor goes over a damp-proof membrane and foam underlay without removing tiles. We check door and threshold heights, and low spots may need levelling first. We also pick the underlay to suit your floor and acoustic needs.
Both zigzag, but herringbone blocks are square-ended, with each block’s end meeting the side of the next, while chevron blocks are angle-cut so the ends meet in a single point, like arrows. Herringbone feels classic; chevron feels more formal. Both need purpose-made boards.
We don’t recommend laminate in bathrooms at all; in kitchens it can work if spills are wiped immediately. The relaxed option for wet rooms is wood-look vinyl, chosen in a shade close to your living-room parquet so the home still flows.
Buckling usually comes from water, a blocked expansion gap or heavy units fixed on a floating floor; gaps between boards appear in very dry conditions. Acclimatising boards and respecting the expansion gap prevent most of these problems. If a board starts to lift, call us early so we can find the cause.
AC3 normally covers bedrooms, living rooms and majlis use in a home. With kids, pets and heavy traffic, or for an office or small clinic, AC4 gives a more comfortable safety margin. AC5 is rarely needed at home; underlay quality and fitting matter more.
Yes. Boards are cut to each tread and fixed firmly, with protective nosings on every edge to stop chipping and reduce slips. Stairs take more time and precision than rooms, so we measure them step by step at the inspection.
Yes, particularly for receptions, executive offices and meeting rooms, in AC4 or higher. Use mats under castor chairs, and consider carpet tiles in open-plan work zones. For larger fit-outs, see our project solutions. We can schedule fitting to minimise disruption to your working week.
