Around 20 mm
A short pile for busy walkways, roofs, balconies and small spaces; it looks tidy and needs less care.
Many people ask for the tallest, softest grass, but the right height differs between a villa garden, an open roof, a balcony and a pitch. Here is what each height means in practice and which other factors shape the look and durability.

The figures below are guidance only, as quality and density vary between products, which is why we show samples on site before you decide. You can also browse the artificial grass section for the types.
A short pile for busy walkways, roofs, balconies and small spaces; it looks tidy and needs less care.
A common choice for home gardens, balancing a natural-lawn look with easy upkeep.
A fuller, relatively softer look for seating areas and gardens where appearance matters.
More softness for low-traffic or decorative areas, though it may need more brushing to keep fibres upright.
A dense, luxurious look for photo and display areas; not advised for very heavy foot traffic.
A dense 30 mm grass can look and wear better than a thin 40 mm one. Ask about density and yarn shape.
Height is one part of the picture. These factors matter just as much when comparing two offers.
The denser the pile, the fuller the lawn looks and the less backing shows between blades. We compare samples by hand and from above, not by advertising alone.
A multi-tone, slightly curled yarn looks closer to natural than a flat, uniform, shiny green. View the sample in sunlight, not indoors.
The backing decides stability and water flow. On roofs and in gardens we check drainage points so water does not pool. Read artificial grass installation.
Riyadh sun is intense, so we ask about UV treatment of the yarn and read the product sheet rather than rely on general promises.
| Starting height | Note | |
|---|---|---|
| Balcony or small terrace | About 20 to 25 mm | Easy care and good for walking |
| Open roof | About 20 to 30 mm | Good drainage and strong fixing against wind |
| Villa garden | About 25 to 35 mm | Balance between look and easy care |
| Seating and decor area | About 35 to 45 mm | Softer look with lighter foot traffic |
| Mini pitch or play area | Depends on the specific product | We use grass made for pitches or play |
We tie the choice to how the space is used every day and who walks on it.
If children and pets use it daily we lean towards a medium, high-density pile. See garden artificial grass for preparation details.
Wind, heat and drainage matter most here, so we favour a shorter pile and good fixing. Read rooftop artificial grass.
They need purpose-made grass and the right infill for the type of play, a different case from ornamental gardens. See sports artificial grass.
For display and product photos a taller pile that will not face heavy traffic can work well.
We measure the area and check slope and drainage points.
Clean, level and lay a suitable sub-base where needed.
The grass is rolled out, left to settle and cut to the edges.
Edges are fixed and seams bonded with joining tape.
Brush the fibres, clear the site and hand over care guidance.
A taller pile generally needs more brushing to stay upright, especially along walking paths, while a short pile looks neat with less effort. In every case clearing dust and leaves regularly keeps the look.
