Light yellow-green
Gives a bright, fresh look and suits shaded areas. Under strong sun it can look lighter than you expect.
Two samples of artificial grass can look almost the same in a showroom, but the difference shows after installation under Riyadh sun: one shade looks too bright, another looks washed out, a third shows its blades breaking up. This guide explains green shades, blade shape, density and thatch layers, and how to read them. Then we link each choice to its use, whether a home garden, a roof, a rest house or a play area. You can always ask for a sample and a free site visit anywhere in Riyadh.

Trade names differ between suppliers, but in practice colour falls into three main groups. What matters most is seeing the sample in sunlight, not in showroom lighting.
Gives a bright, fresh look and suits shaded areas. Under strong sun it can look lighter than you expect.
The most common choice for home gardens because it resembles natural turf in most lighting conditions.
Looks rich and deep and suits open spaces, but may show dust more and absorb more heat. See artificial grass in summer heat.
Some types combine two greens within the blade or between blades, which looks more natural than a single flat colour.
Colour alone does not decide quality. What pleases the eye and survives use also depends on blade shape, pile height, density and backing. These terms recur with every supplier, and understanding them protects you from a poor choice.
Blades may be flat, curved, V-shaped, W-shaped or hollow. Curved and reinforced shapes spring back after being trodden on, while flat blades give more sheen. Ask what the yarn is made of and how it copes with UV light, and read artificial grass lifespan and UV.
Height determines appearance and use: longer pile feels softer to the eye, shorter pile suits sports areas and paths. We explain this in our pile height guide. Density is the number of stitches per metre. It adds fullness and hides the backing between blades.
Some products add a short curly layer in yellow or brown between the long blades to imitate natural thatch and prop up the upright blades. It looks more realistic but needs more careful cleaning.
A perforated backing lets water through, which matters on roofs and in gardens. See artificial grass base and drainage.
These suggestions are general. The best decision comes after seeing the sample on your site.
| Use | Suggested colour | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Home garden | Medium green or two-tone | Medium pile and a natural look, see garden artificial grass |
| Roof or open terrace | Medium to dark green | Watch drainage and shade, see rooftop artificial grass |
| Sports or play area | Medium green with good density | Short pile and a suitable base, see sports artificial grass |
| Rest house and pool | Light to medium green | Choosing shade reduces the feeling of heat near water |
| Entrances and paths | Medium green, short pile | Easy to clean and copes with regular walking |
Strong light changes how colour is perceived. In direct sun light shades look lighter, flat blades shine more, and dark shades look deeper. In shade or in the evening the colour settles down again.
Morning, midday and evening. Lay the sample on a surface like your site and view it from different angles. If the site has night lighting, look at it at night too.
Wall colour and outdoor furniture change how grass looks. Medium green suits most warm tones, while dark green brings out white and grey.
Dark shades and different materials absorb more heat than others. We recommend shade and cover the precautions in summer heat and artificial grass.
A bright sample can attract you, but real judgement comes from construction and behaviour after months of use. These are the points we check with the customer in front of the sample itself.
Bend the blades and release them: good blades return gradually. Press with your foot and watch how fast the shape recovers.
Gently pull a few blades. They should not come out easily, and look at the back to see how the stitching is secured to the backing.
A firm backing with drainage holes is better for open areas. Ask how the sample behaves with water.
Ask for height, density, yarn type and UV treatment as figures supplied by the manufacturer, not general descriptions. We never invent numbers, and we show you what is on the actual product sheet.
Each place has its own conditions, so we choose colour and type with shade, traffic and water in mind.
Exposed roof areas take stronger sun and heat, so we favour medium shades and a perforated backing. See rooftop artificial grass and balcony artificial grass.
Near a pool the grass meets splashes and chlorine, so we recommend types with good drainage and a durable backing. Details in artificial grass around pools.
These need good density, suitable height and a shock-absorbing base. See playground artificial grass and padel court grass.
Where people sit daily, ease of cleaning and tolerance of walking matter most, and we suggest medium green. See restaurant terrace grass.
Enter length and width in metres and choose a waste allowance, then send the result on WhatsApp for us to review with you.
Garden, roof, sports area or rest house, and who will use it.
We bring samples in several colours and heights so you see them on site.
We check the slope of the surface, water paths and the installation base.
We calculate area, waste and seam lines.
We fit the grass, leave the site clean and give care advice.
Screen and photo colours differ from reality. A real sample on your site is more honest.
A light shade can look unnatural under strong sun, so try the medium one too.
The best colour will not rescue grass with water trapped beneath it, so check the slope and a perforated backing.
Dust changes the visible colour. Read artificial grass maintenance.

No single colour suits every case, but medium green or a two-tone blend is the most common choice in home gardens for its natural look. We settle on the right one after seeing the sample under your site sunlight.
Long exposure to UV light can affect colour over time, depending on the yarn quality and its treatment. Ask about the specification and read our page on grass lifespan.
Curved and reinforced blades spring back faster after being trodden on, while flat blades give more sheen. The choice follows the look you want and how heavily it is used.
Not necessary, but in some types it adds realism and supports the upright blades. It needs more careful cleaning than simple types.
Yes in some designs, to mark a path or zone, but agree the seams and borders in advance so lines do not show.
It depends on use and the look you want, and we explain the heights in a dedicated guide.
Dust shows on every colour to a different degree. Regular rinsing and proper care matter more than the shade, so choose the colour you like in the sun.
